The spring sports season hit full stride over the weekend as our varsity baseball and softball teams played their season and home openers on Saturday both hosting Northwestern. The softball team had a rough day against the Huskies' strong bats and lost by a 17-3 final score. The JV softball team also hosted Northwestern and lost 20-7. Both teams are scheduled to be back in action today against Colonel Crawford.
After falling behind 5-0 throughout the early innings the Big Red baseball team came storming back with a 5 run 5th inning to tie the game at 5 before notching a walk-off win in the bottom of the 7th to secure an exciting season opening come from behind win by a final score of 6-5. Bobby Bowman earned the win on the mound for the Big Red after coming in in relief in the 5th inning. They are also scheduled to be back in action today against Colonel Crawford.
