Students will get their prizes sometime this week at school. Here are the 3rd set of Frindle bookmarks and New Word sheets. We had 10 students submit the 3rd bookmark and 3 submit a new word. The new words submitted are: percus, Pixiepop, and ideary.
Oakley D created the word: percus, which means 'imperfectly perfect'
Kyliee D. created the word: Pixiepop, a noun pronounced 'pick-see pop'. Its definition is "the seed-bearing part of a plant, consisting of reproductive organs that are typically surrounded by a brightly colored corolla (petals) and a green calyx (sepals). Her sentence is 'I was running through the field when I saw a fairy dancing on a Pixiepop. Synonyms include flower, florets, floweret, blossoms, blooms.
Kennedy B. created the word ideary, which is pronounced 'i-dear-y'. It's defined as 'something you read (a book) or a published document. Her sentence is 'I read a new ideary today called Frindle'. Synonyms include essay, album, and novel.

The baseball team picked up a nice bounce back win over the Cougars as they earned the series split with a 6-3 win behind a strong effort from Lincoln Distl on the mound. The win improves them to 9-8 overall and 6-5 in league play and they will be back in action tonight in a non-league added game at Wellington.
The softball team struggled again against the league leading Cougars and lost 17-0. They are now 5-15 on the season and 2-10 in conference play and will be back in action on Saturday morning hosting Seneca East at 10am. The JV softball team also again played some innings following the varsity game and will be back in action tonight in a full game at home with Upper Sandusky.
