Big Red Recap: Thursday night football was played at Alumni Field last night as the Big Red hosted Willard in their annual week 2 matchup. After a rough start for the Big Red and Willard jumping out to 3 TD lead the rest of the game was a back and forth battle as the Big Red fought back and did not go away. The Big Red trailed by scores of 20-7 after the 1st quarter and 28-7 at halftime but struck first in the 2nd half to get within striking distance at 28-14 early in the 3rd quarter. The Big Red defense however struggled to slow down Willard’s offense as the flashes would add 3 more 2nd half TD’s to pull away to the 50-28 final score. Isaiah Miller carried the load on offense for the Big Red all night as he scored all 4 Big Red TD’s on the ground with the help of Keegan Beverly, Ben Trimmer, and quarterback Lincoln Distl. We are super proud of the entire team for their fight and battle last night in front of a great crowd at Alumni Field. They will look to bounce back next week as they host Wellington. The MS volleyball teams were also in action as they traveled to Mapleton and came away with a split as the 7th grade won while the 8th grade lost. They will next be in action on Wednesday next week hosting St. Paul. Please enjoy this beautiful picture submitted by Jessica Fidler from the game. 🤩
