Big Red Weekend Recap:

It was a busy weekend for the Big Red as the fall season begins to wind down and end of season league tournaments and post-season begins.

The Big Red Football team got the weekend started on Friday night as they traveled to Monroeville for a conference matchup with the league leading Eagles. The Big Red came out and battled the Eagles in the 1st quarter and forced a turnover on the Eagles first play from scrimmage but could not get much offense going before the Eagles got on the board with a late 1st quarter TD to start the scoring. They would hold a 35-0 lead at halftime before scoring 3 more TD's in the 2nd half to take down the Big Red 55-0 as the Big Red drop to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in conference play. After 3 straight road games they will return home for the final two weeks of the season and will host Western Reserve this week.

On Saturday morning, the cross country teams continued their season competing in the Firelands Conference Championship at New London High School. The high school boys team finished 5th. Audrey Smith finished 2nd Team All-Conference. Kristi Yeager and Carter Jester both finished Honorable Mention All-Conference.

Levi Foley finished 42nd in a time of 22:43.93
Luke Kelbley finished 47th in a time of 26:34.41

The middle school team concluded their season.
Gabe Tackett finished 27th in a time of 18:15.97
Ari Miller finished 26th in a time of 25:56.93

The high school teams will head into the postseason this weekend in the District meet in Galion on Saturday morning.

Also on Saturday, the MS Volleyball teams concluded their season in their respective conference tournaments. The 7th grade bowed out in the 1st round losing to New London in 2 straight sets while the 8th grade picked up a 1st round win over South Central and then fell in the semi-finals to Monroeville.
