Athletic News! Big Red Weekend Recap: It was a busy start to the long holiday weekend for Big Red spring sports teams as all of our teams were in action on Thursday getting the weekend started. The varsity baseball and softball teams both traveled to Lucas to take on the Cubs in non-conference action and both came away with nice wins. The baseball team used a strong offensive performance to defeat the Cubs 10-5 and improved to 5-4 overall on the season. The softball team used solid pitching and timely offense to secure a 6-4 win over the Lady Cubs. The Lady Big Red then followed that up with another strong performance on Friday when they hosted Willard and made it two non-conference wins in as many nights with a 13-2 win over the Flashes. The two wins improve the Lady Big Red to 5-6 overall. Both baseball and softball will be back in action tonight (Monday) hosting New London. The JV softball team was also in action on Thursday at home hosting Mapleton and lost to the Mounties. They will be back in action on Tuesday traveling to Hillsdale. The HS track and field teams have had a busy week with meets on both Thursday and Saturday. The entire squad was in action on Thursday evening at Buckeye Central in the Stache Dash. The boys team finished 9th and the girls team finished 11th.

Morgan Follett finished 3rd in the 3200 in a time of 12:12.85 The team will be back in action on Tuesday at Crestview in a tri with Western Reserve.

Big Red Family! About the Back to School Program Remember the Back to School Program has changed. The program is now an application process requiring pre-approval. You will not automatically receive a letter and application in the mail. The Back to School program provides clothing vouchers and bookbags to families with children who meet the specified eligibility criteria. To be eligible for the program, a family's income cannot exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and minor children in the household must be entering/enrolled in grades K-12 during the 2025-2026 school year. Applications are available online during the period April 01, 2025 – April 30, 2025. The number of applications processed and children served will be contingent upon funding. Applications will be reviewed and processed in chronological order of submission. No applications will be considered if they are submitted outside the specified timeframe. Applicants who are approved for the back-to-school voucher program will receive an approval notice in the mail and a letter outlining the distribution dates and instructions. PHS News! Student Spotlight for Advanced PE/Weight Lifting Isak Strom is this week’s spotlight student in Advanced PE/Weightlifting. Isak works hard every day and has seen the results of his hard work. He has increased his total weight lifted in every category, including a 25% increase in bench press and deadlift! He is prepared for every class and finishes his workout every day. He’s a pleasure to have in class. Great Job and keep up the great work Isak!

Big Red Family! Frindle - One School, One Book Program Here are some pictures from our 1st bookmark submission. Books and goodie bags will go home today for all students who participated in the first bookmark submission. The 2nd bookmark submission date is next Wednesday, April 23rd for chapters 6-10. Also don't forget about the New Word Challenge due on Friday, April 25th. Prize winners will be drawn from the collected submissions for both the 2nd bookmark and the New Word Challenge. Please be sure to include your child or family's name on each submission so prizes can be easily awarded. Thank you to ALL that participated so far! Athletic News! Big Red Recap: The JV softball team was the only team in action on Wednesday night as they traveled to Crestview and lost another tough game to the Cougars 16-5. They will be right back in action tonight at home taking on Mapleton.

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: It was a cold and windy Tuesday night as the Big Red baseball and softball teams took on Monroeville for the 2nd night in a row this time at home. Both teams struggled in the conditions and fell to the Eagles. Baseball lost an offensive battle by a 14-9 final score while Softball lost 18-4. Baseball drops to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the league while Softball drops to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in the league. Both teams will be back in action on Thursday at Lucas.

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: Our baseball and softball teams finally got to play in some decent spring like weather on Monday night as all of our teams were in action. The varsity teams both traveled to Monroeville to take on the Eagles in conference play. Baseball came away with a 6-1 win behind a strong outing on the mound from Jarrett Burrer as he earned the complete game win for the Big Red. They improve to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in league play and will host Monroeville tonight. The softball team lost to the high-powered and undefeated Eagles by a 16-1 final score as they drop to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the league. They will also be right back at it tonight hosting Monroeville. The JV softball team was also in action as they hosted Crestview and lost to the Cougars 26-2. They will be off today and will travel to Crestview tomorrow.
