Athletic News! Big Red Weekend Recap: It's the final recap of the winter sports season for the Big Red as the season officially came to an end over the weekend at the district wrestling tournament. Our 5 district qualifiers; Hunter McClure, Thomas Winegardner, Ben Trimmer, Zach Miller, and Noah Robinson battled hard over the weekend but were unable to advance from districts to state. Hunter went 0-2, Thomas and Zach both went 1-2, Ben went 2-2, and Noah went 2-3 on the weekend. After advancing to the semi final round on Friday Noah had a tough day on Saturday going 0-3 on the day but was able to go out as a district placer with a 6th place finish. We are proud of all 5 of our district qualifying wrestlers for the great seasons they had!

Big Red Family! Happy 222nd Birthday Ohio! 🥳 Although legally Ohio became the 17th state with the February 19, 1803 act of Congress, Ohio statehood is celebrated on March 1. The date of March 1, 1803 was when the Ohio legislature met for the first time. This was retroactively made the statehood date by a 1953 Resolution of the United States Congress. - archives.gov

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: The boys basketball team entered into district tournament play on Thursday night as they took on St. Mary's in the district semi finals at Shelby HS. It was not the Big Red's night as they struggled offensively all night from start to finish and trailed the Panthers wire to wire. Baskets were hard to come by early for both teams as the Panthers held a 7-5 advantage at the end of the 1st quarter, however St. Mary's found some offense in the 2nd quarter while the Big Red continued to struggle and the halftime score was 22-10 in favor of St. Mary's. The Big Red tried to cut into the lead during the 3rd quarter but could not gather much momentum and would trail 33-22 after 3 quarters. St. Mary's pulled away during the 4th quarter for the 46-25 win. The Big Red see their season come to an end with a 12-12 overall record.
