Athletic News! Big Red Recap: The Lady Big Red girls basketball team made their first appearance in a district tournament game in 15 years on Thursday night as they took on Seneca East in the division 7 district semi finals at Shelby HS. It was a learning experience for the Lady Big Red as they took on the Tigers who have been a mainstay in district tournaments in recent years. The Lady Big Red struggled to slow down the Tigers offense early and struggled handling the defensive pressure and would trail 26-5 after the 1st quarter and 43-11 at the half. They continued to compete hard in the 2nd half and outscored the Tigers 12-10 en route to the 53-23 season ending loss. They finish the season with a 7-17 overall record and say goodbye to their one and only senior Cailynn Bailey. We are proud of Cailynn for her senior leadership and all of our Lady Big Red players and coaches!
