Athletic News! Big Red Gameday! Friday is here and it's week 2 of the high school football season and the Big Red are set to make the short trip to Willard for the battle of the county line on Military Appreciation Night! Kickoff is set for 7pm. Military Appreciation pre-game festivities will begin on the field at 6:30pm. There is also a community tailgate outside of the stadium that is open to fans from both schools starting at 4:30pm. We look forward to seeing Big Red nation show up in Willard tonight to support the team, cheerleaders, and band as they represent the community! Go Big Red!!

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: It was a busy Thursday night as several of our fall teams were in action and weathered the continued hot and humid temperatures. The MS football teams finally got their regular seasons underway as they hosted Edison. It was a rough night for the Big Red as both teams dropped tough games to the Chargers and fall to 0-1. They will be back in action next Thursday getting into league play by hosting South Central. The MS Volleyball teams traveled to New London and both found the win column by defeating the Wildcats. This is the 7th grade's first win of the season while 8th grade improves to 3-0! They will be off until next Thursday when they host Mapleton. The JV and Varsity Volleyball teams also took on New London as they hosted the Wildcats and both lost in straight sets. They drop to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play. They will be right back in action tomorrow morning hosting Black River with freshmen starting at 9am. The Golf team was also in action as they traveled to Bucyrus GC for a non-conference tri match with Bucyrus and Wynford. They came away with a split as they lost to Wynford but defeated Bucyrus with a team score of 215. Colton Hass led the way with a 51 followed by Tim Linstrum's 52. Picking up the win improves them to 2-13 overall in matches on the season. They will be back in action on Tuesday at Western Reserve.

Athletic News! Week 2 and Military Appreciation Night! It's week 2 of the HS football season and your 1-0 Big Red will travel to Willard for the battle of the county line on Military Appreciation Night. Kickoff is set for 7pm on Friday night at Willard. Military Appreciation Night pre-game festivities will begin at 6:30on on the field. Please see attached for a complete timeline of the pre-game festivities. There will be a community tailgate open to fans from both schools outside the gate starting at 4:30pm. We are looking forward to making the short trip to Willard as the Big Red and Flashes renew their annual backyard rivalry! Go Big Red!!

Big Red Family! Thank You!! The athletic department and cross country program would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time last night to help with our annual home invite. The cross country program had a great showing from its alumni and former runners as well as families of current runners in the program and we could not conduct a meet like that without everyone's support and help. Also a thank you to our maintenance department here at the school for their help with preparing the course and supporting the meet. Thank you to all who helped in any way shape or form and for your continued support of Big Red athletics! Go Big Red!

Athletic News! UPDATE! Tomorrow's MS football games at home with Edison will now start at 5:30pm instead of 5pm due to transportation issues for Edison. 8th grade will play first at 5:30 followed by 7th grade.

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: It was a busy Tuesday evening as several of our Big Red teams battled the heat and high temperatures while competing. The cross country teams were the highlight of the night as they hosted the annual Bob James Invite in and around Alumni Field. The HS girls finished in 4th place as a team as Morgan Follett led the way with a 6th place finish in a time of 13:44. Audrey Smith followed in 19th place while Kristi Yeager (32nd), Anna Caughenbaugh (33rd), and Aly Lewis (34th) rounded out the scoring for the girls. The boys finished in 6th place as a team led by Colton Sundstrom's 19th place finish in a time of 12:32. Zach Miller followed in 37th place while Luke Kelbley (50th), Isaiah Miller (51st), and Jack Kelbley (55th) rounded it out for the boys. Weston Smith led the Big Red MS runners with a 2nd place finish in the boys race while Carter Jester took 6th and Gabe Tackett took 36th. Ari Miller represented the MS girls and took 37th place. They will all be back in action on Saturday at the Bucyrus Elks Invite. The JV and Varsity volleyball teams traveled to Monroeville to take on the Eagles and both fell in straight sets. They drop to 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in conference play and will be back in action tomorrow hosting New London. The golf team was also in action as they hosted Colonel Crawford at Woody Ridge in non-conference action and lost by a team score of 168-201. Colton Hass led the way with a 42 followed by Cole Back's 50 as the Big Red drop to 1-12 overall on the season. They will be back in action tomorrow as well traveling to Bucyrus GC for a tri-match with Bucyrus and Wynford.

Athletic News! Cross Country Bob James Invite! We are excited to host our annual Bob James Cross Country invite tonight! This year's meet will be held on the school grounds and will start at 7pm. The start time has been pushed back to the high temperatures and heat index forecasted for today. The schedule of races is below. We will be charging a parking fee of $5 per car upon entry into the parking lot and the concession stand inside the football stadium will be open. This is a great opportunity to come out and support your hard working cross country athletes! MS Girls - 7:00 MS Boys - 7:25 HS Girls - 7:50 HS Boys - 8:15 Go Big Red!!

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: It was a volleyball Monday night at PHS and SMS as all of our teams were in action here at home. The MS teams hosted Monroeville and came away with a split with the Eagles as the 8th grade picked up an exciting 3 set win to improve to 2-0 on the season while the 7th grade dropped a tough match to the Eagles. They will both be back in action on Thursday when they travel to New London. The Lady Big Red HS teams also were in action as they hosted Mansfield Christian in a non-conference tripleheader. All 3 teams lost to the Flames but not before all 3 teams were able to win their first sets of the season as all 3 extended their games. The freshman and JV both fell in 3 sets while the varsity lost in 4 sets. They drop to 0-4 overall on the season and will be right back in action tonight when they travel to Monroeville for JV and Varsity only starting at 5:30pm.
